Mission & Outreach
Our mission is to serve, through cooperative community action, our neighbors in Rowan County who are in crisis, by providing essential life needs and educating and empowering them to break the cycle of crisis.
Meals on Wheels delivers nutritious, freshly made meals directly to our clients’ homes. Whether you would like to order high-quality home-delivered meals for yourself or for someone you care for, signing up is easy. In addition to home-delivered healthy meals at a great value, our clients receive a daily visit from our friendly volunteers
Communities In Schools of Rowan County is an affiliate of Communities In Schools, Inc. (CIS), the nation’s leading community-based organization helping young people stay in school and prepare for life. CIS of Rowan County began in 1998 and was chartered in 2001, and serves selected schools in the Rowan-Salisbury Schools district.
Partnered with Salisbury-Rowan School System, FPC now serves as a meal site for their Summer Meals program feeding children healthy lunches at no charge.

Originally its own nonprofit entity, Food for Thought came under Rowan Helping Ministries umbrella of services in August of 2017. Utilizing existing resources, they were able to grow the program from 634 children to 769 in its first year. They will serve over 900 students by the end of the 2019 school year with plans to target the 1,100 most critical students at risk of food-insecurity as identified by their partners within the Rowan-Salisbury School System.
